However, he was interested in a wide variety of sports, so he played handball intensively, drove ski races and successfully vaulted. After passing the final apprenticeship as a tinsmith, Pascal Bettschen went abroad. In Montreal - Canada he gained his first experience in a jumping stable, California - USA, Buenos Aires-Argentina and Ötzen - Germany followed. At the latter station, he was particularly responsible for the stallion training.
This passion has remained to this day, he can always be found with stallions on tournament grounds. Back in Switzerland, Pascal Bettschen took the step to become self-employed.
